Welcome to All Things Under The ;sun

Let's be for real, skincare can be overwhelming. There are a million products, conflicting advice, and that one friend who swears the Dove Beauty Bar is the answer to everything (it’s not—but if it works for you, it works for you, we listen and we don't judge). That's where I come in.
My name is Ngodoo Golden aka Sunshine, licensed esthetician, former mental health counselor, and founder of solo;sun skincare. I started this blog because skincare isn't only about what you put on your face, it's about what's going on beneath the surface too. We all know stress messes with your skin and messed up skin can create stress. And if you didn't know that, there's a lot more we need to talk about.
What to Expect Here
All Things Under the ;sun is for people who want to understand their skin–not just slap products on it. If you're tired of blindly following trends or guessing what works, you're in the right place. You'll get practical skincare advice, real talk about the beauty industry, and a deeper look into why the way we care for our skin is so connected to our mental well-being.
You'll also hear a lot about my whipped shea butter. Because, listen–good shea butter isn't just a product; it's an experience. And it tells a story. My story. The whipped shea butter in the ;ROOTS collection is sourced from West Africa, home. It's whipped to perfection (think frozen whipped cream), it's soft, airy, and melts on contact—like butter on a hot pancake, fragrance-free for the sensitive skin folks, and ready to make you rethink everything you thought you knew about body butter.
Why This Matters
I don't do hype. I don't do trends. I believe in education, transparency, and helping you make informed choices about what goes on your skin. No fluff, no gimmicks–just real talk and a few peer-reviewed articles.
So whether you’re here to learn, unlearn, find body care that actually delivers, see what I have to say about skin, shea butter, and everything in between—or just make your skin (and life) a little less chaotic—welcome.
